My application is essentially complete but my transcripts have not yet been received. I was wondering if anyone knows definitively whether there is a benefit to submitting the AMCAS before your transcripts are received?

Verification doesn't start until the transcripts are received. You can submit now if you're ready so that you automatically enter the process when your transcripts are marked as received.

There is a benefit. You will be in line for verification the moment it is received, versus when you notice the email saying your transcript has been received and then decide to submit.

I don't know about you, but I tend to ignore my email during the summer. I just checked mine for the first time in 5 days. If I was in your situation, that would have been five more days between dates for verification, which is significant.

However, do whatever you want. If you want to wait, then wait. You could always use the time to beef up your application.
