I submitted my application today, but AMCAS has yet to receive my transcript. My school mailed it on May 24th, and the front page of AMCAS says they updated all the transcripts they have received since June 3rd. Should I start thinking about sending another transcript?

Unless your school sent your transcripts electronically, expect some delay for it to get to AAMC. I would wait a couple more days, but honestly, it's highly unlikely that your transcripts were lost in the mail.

Might call amcas to ask, but in my experience, the "received" thing was meaningless. I sent transcripts from schools on the East Coast that I know were received within 2 business days, but it still took aamc another week to mark them. And this was several weeks ago when there wasn't much of a lag time between "received" and "marked as."

I think the "received" thing means: when we pick it up in a huge bag from the post office and some gets around to opening that specific bag. That might be several days after it actually showed up in DC.

more than opening a bag of mail, someone has to open it up and most likely scan it into a system and then associate it with your account. given the number of applicants with multiple transcripts (i myself had four ) I'm not surprised it's taking them so long.
