If i submit the AMCAS application to some school but don't complete the secondary application to that school , will that count as an application cycle to other schools?
I know some schools ask what years I have applied to medical school.
Do they know if I submit amcas to another school?
I basically want to wait and see my mcat score before I apply to schools, but was thinking of applying to one school so that it can be verified

Mmm, if you decide not to apply after all and don't complete the secondary for that school then you technically didn't apply because you didn't complete the application process. I'm in Texas but our app asks us if we have ever applied to any medical schools in the past, not whether or not we filled out the app.

I've seen the same question in a secondary (have you applied to medical school in previous years if so what year) , but why would a primary application (to a different school if course) count as applying without secondary?

I mean applying without secondary is as if no application was submitted?

I think that if you submit the primary, you will count as a reapplicant to the question "have you ever applied to any medical school before". However, technically you are only a reapplicant if you are applying to a school for the 2nd time. Some schools just ask "have you applied to our school before"

Yes I'm already a reapplicant so don't want to be an reapplicant 3rd time, I want to apply once i get my score back. But in the meantime submit to 1 school (not a top choice) to get my amcas verified.

You could submit to only 1 school that you have no intention of ever applying to again, that way you won't be a reapplicant to any other schools. You could also probably have went over this in your other thread.

That was my plan until i realized, some schools ask "have you applied before to medical school if so what year?"
