Sorry for the double post. I posted this on the chances link three days ago, but didn't get any luck.

I'm about to submit my app in a few weeks. I took the MCAT on June 13th, I'm expecting my score around July 15th. I'm hoping that I don't have to retake but I'm still studying just in case. I'm also waiting for my letters to come in.

Also, my most recent GPAs are: cGPA--3.63 sGPA--3.59. The breakdown is as follows:

- Church choir for about five years
- Photography as well as some freelance work for about a year and half.

I'm concerned about my last two semesters because I took very little units (11 and 10, respectively, I was studying for the mcat). Is it going to hurt my app?

Also, should I wait for my scores to come out before I submit my app?

Are there schools that automatically reject applicants if the MCAT scores are not available?

My other concern is that if I didn't do so well on the exam and have to retake, would they hold my app until the retake scores are in? If I have to retake, I would likely do so around August 21st.

Lastly, what scores would I need in order to be competitive this app cycle?

If it makes any difference, I'm a California resident. I will update this thread with my MCAT scores as well as my school list. Thank you so much for all of your input.

Your GPAs are solid. What were you averaging on AAMC practice tests? As long as you score a 26+, you'll be fine. If you can get a 28+, you'll be golden!

I would submit your primary now so you can enter the verification queue. Then you can immediately update your application as soon as your score comes in- it will save you time further in the application cycle! I don't think there are any DO schools that automatically reject without an MCAT score, but they will likely wait to send a secondary until your score is in.

I doubt that the lighter two semesters will matter that much, so long as you were still active in some extracurricular/volunteer activities.

With TBR's FL, I was averaging around a 25 (really bad I know). However, on my last practice test (AAMC 10), I was able to score a 29. To be honest, I really don't know how to feel about the exam, the PS section was on the harder side, although that seems to be the general consensus. The VR and BS sections, I really have no idea what to think about them. It's all kind of a blur right now.

At this point, I don't really have a school preference. I'm open to go anywhere. At any rate, what minimum score do you think I need to get into at least one school? Don't really care if it's a new school or not.

Lastly, IF in case I need a retake, would schools wait for my retake scores before rejecting my app?

Thanks for all your input!
