Hey guys,

I couldn't find the answer I was looking for but I need some quick advice. I have a couple low mcat scores so I am trying to figure out if I should wait for my new scores to come back before I submit (15 days) or just submit early? I guess I am just worried that I will get overlooked immediately for the previous scores. My transcripts haven't been received yet either so I don't know the effect this will have on the grand scheme of things.

Furthermore, is it possible to use the "send selected score" feature? Or do schools automatically see them all when you enter your aamc id? And lastly, I entered (in the unofficial scores part of the app) that I had taken the MCAT on 5/19. Is this enough for the school(s) to wait until my new scores in to review the rest of my application?

Sorry for the noob style questions! Any advice is appreciated.

Submit with the indication that you are retaking the mcat. you probably won't get verified, but even if you do, no schools will look at your app into July (probably). So you can start the verification now. WIN!

It is my understanding from reading recent threads of applicants submitting now that you can submit without transcripts, you just won't get verified until they are in.

How low of MCAT scores are we talking here?

👍

20 & 19 =/ I retook on 5/19 and was averaging 26 with an upward trend on my practice tests getting 28 & 29 on a TBR test and AAMC 11 respectively but I am still super nervous about my score so I am just trying to put myself in the best situation I can. Do I just put that another MCAT is planned to indicate that I am retaking? Also, do you guys know about the send selected score feature?

no, but you have to send all your scores. If your scores are getting released in 15 days, you won't get verified in time and you will be golden. I submitted June 2nd last year and was verified July 7th. I think.

Honestly, I would wait to submit, but that's just me. It's just 15 days... not much will happen in those 15 days. Mid-June is late only by SDN pre-med standards.

It sounds like your MCAT is going to be much improved this time around (can only hope for now that third time is a charm!) 😀

I am not aware of this send selected score feature. Sorry!

I mean, I do have a pretty decent GPA (3.77) and EC's. I am really banking on all that to make up for my MCAT scores, especially if this one isn't what I need.

I was thinking the same thing but I didn't know if applying to just one school right now would be of a big advantage to me! Thank you!

I doubt it. Just be prepared to submit the day you get your score. How far out are your transcripts?

I had them sent out early last week, so I wouldn't think it'd be too much longer.
