Hi Everyone,

I am writing the DAT on October 1st. My LOE's have yet to be sent, but they will most likely be all sent within a week or two, and same with my transcript. I was wondering if I should submit my application in before these documents have been completed? Also, when I signed up for the DAT, I had to choose 5 schools to which I was going to apply to, now on AADSAS, when I choose schools, do I not include those five?

Need HELP!

When you signed up for the DAT, you requested your scores be sent to five schools. You MUST also designate these same five schools on the AADSAS application if you want them to get everything they need to process your app.

Your application won't be verified and sent to dental schools until they receive and check your official transcript. This can take about 4 weeks after they receive it. If I was you, I would get my transcript to AADSAS ASAP so they can start processing it, then submit the whole application when AADSAS verifies they have received your letters. This will get your application mailed to dental schools as early as possible, and the DAT will automatically be sent to them when you take it.

Just an afterthought, you may want to consider applying to more than five schools. You can equest your DAT scores to be sent to additional schools for abut $25 a pop.

Oh ok, Thanks, yeah I am going to apply to approx. 10 schools. So does that mean I have to contact ADA and tell them to release scores to other schools as well?

Yes, you'll have to do that. They won't get your scores otherwise.
