I planned on submitting my ERAS application tomorrow. However, I have not finished my personal statement or assigned all of my LORs for my prelim programs. Does anyone know if I have to have my ps and lor's complete before submitting or can they be added to/updated at any time? thanks for any advice!

I know that LOR's can be added later, and I suspect that the same holds for your PS.

You DO NOT need your PS or LORs to submit your application. I got 8 interview offers before I even submitted my personal statement. Submit ERAS now and get the other stuff in when you have it.

Can we assign LORs that have not actually been scanned into ERAS yet? Will they automatically update when they are available to the programs? Or should I only assign LORs that have already been scanned and wait for the others? thanks!

yes, you can assign LORs to programs even if ERAS hasn't recieved them from you yet. Just write the name of the Physician in the LOR writers list and assign that LOR to the particular program you are applying to. The program will understand that you will in the future have this LOR but you don't have it yet.

When ERAS recieves that LOR, they will scan it and they will let the program upload it.

cheers and all the best
