Success in 3rd year?

I just finished my first year and consistently scored in the 70s on exams, with the occasional higher mark. I've heard many people at my school say that if you are scoring in the 80s you are setting yourself up well for 3rd year. Well, I'm curious about people like myself. Have you seen people, including yourselves, do very well their 3rd year having had success like mine the first two years? Thanks in advance for your responses. I think they will help me be a little less anxious.
