Hey all,

I just have a question for any of you who recently began your residency after suffering through a year of internship: Is it everything you hoped it would be and more? Please tell me that this year of pain is really worth it!

(I did get one positive story from a pgy-2 who spoke about his required sports medicine lecture on elbow injuries--given at the golf course!!!)

Well, I got to tell you, since most programs front load the inpatient rehab experience in the PGY-2 sometimes being a PGY-2 can feel a lot like being the "rehab intern." But, even the roughest day on the unit beats the best day as an intern!

I agree w/ Dr. Russo. PGY2 year feels really bad sometimes. Not as "painful" as some internship days but more frustrating. Home call, however, is SO much better!

actually my internship isn't too bad (after all, it's two in the afternoon here and i've been surfing the web for about an hour now without being paged once!)

....still lookin' forward to july, though
