Yeah, you're right, he gave you the other one.

Roberts and Hedges gives you exhaustive coverage including indications, procedure and interpretation of the procedures it covers-which are most of the ones done by EPs.

Reichman and Simon gives you slightly less on each procedure but includes all the things any EP ever thought about doing. For example, very nice discussion of pericardial window through diagphragm. Only problem is that if patient needs this, he'll likely then bleed like stink once you relieve the tamponade. You'll then have to do the thoracotomy you were trying to avoid to save him.

Both are excellent books, ahead of the rest of the pack, but have different approaches.

most departments have a copy chained down somewhere. i personally have not bought one and don't anticipate doing so. also, if your department has MDconsult there is an online version to look stuff up.

I've always used Roberts and Hedges but lately I've been disappointed when I went to it for some things. It also is badly in need of new graphics. Many of the photos date from the preglove era. What I'd really like is a smaller, portable source, possible on CDROM.
