Hi everyone!

So I just finished my 5 science Bootcamp exams. I did a LOT better than I expected, especially in GC:

Bio: 24,20,22,21,22
Orgo: 20,22,22, 26, 24
GC: 20, 21, 26, 24,19 (that last exam was brutal)

Im happy that all these scores are relatively high and consistent (but Im not gonna get too happy or too sad, as these are just practice exams, and nothing can perfectly predict scores)

So my exam is on July 14, 3 weeks from tomorrow (oh gosh!!)

Im still working on RC, PAT, and QR. PAT I think i'm fine with, I've been getting 20-23 on bootcamp exams, and I feel like I can get at least a 19/20 on that. Currently working on Math Destroyer (hopefully I get through all of them!) and for RC Im just trying to improve my score (been getting 18-20 on BC/QVault)

I went through Destroyer twice for GC and Orgo, and 1 full time for Bio. Ive been reviewing everything I got wrong/ didnt know/ was unclear about for bio via notecards almost every day, so I feel like that is pretty similar to doing Bio for another run (although I may do it again).

Any suggestions for how to proceed? Im gonna go through (most likely) then 10 science exams on QVault, and also keep reviewing my notecards/ reading Ferralis' notes more, while focusing on my weaker areas in between. I'll also keep doing more RC practice, Math destroyer, and daily PAT.

Also, planning to take the 2007 tomorrow. What do you guys think? What helped you guys when time was winding down?

Anything helps! Thanks as always SDN, I appreciate everything!!

Hello virtualmaster999 ,

Try to give yourself a little time off to relax along with study. You have put in a lot of hard work over the last few months. Make sure you are prepared for tone questions in the reading because the recent test takers on SDN and my students have stated they wished they had prepared more for those type of passages.

Thank you both! I'm trying to do everything possible to have no regrets, and putting in my 100% effort is my sole foundation. Ill do whatever it takes.

@orgoman22 do you have any suggestions on how to better prepare for RC? This section scares me the most! I just got done with another practice exam, and scored 21 (my highest yet). I would be happy with 18-19 in RC as long as everything else is 19+. I've tried reading the passages but I would always run out of time, which is why I just use Search and Destroy. When I took the practice exam today, I tried something different: Instead of being fixated on finding a certain question, I would make a column on my noteboard; one side has detail, and the other for tone/inference questions. If I didnt find a detail one quickly, I would mark it down, and move on. I would skip tone/ inference right away. Then I would go back at the end of all 17 questions and do all the detail questions I missed, and lastly the tone/inference if time permitted (rather than going through the whole exam and going back to all skipped questions). I found that I was able to answer more questions, including more tone/inference questions. Though, I did have to guess on at least 6-8 questions tone/inference based as the time was running out. I got 11 wrong total too.

Question: You mentioned that some students wished they had gone over more tone questions. Was their exam heavily tone/ inference based, with little detail questions? I can see how this would be a problem for those doing Search and Destroy. But isn't the usual trend 60% detail 40% tone/inference?
If I wanted to get 18-19 (at the minimum), do you know approximately how many questions I would have to answer correctly out of 50?

Thanks for the help!

Yea hopefully there is some place to practice these tone questions. The only thing I can think of are practice tests like bootcamp/qvault/genius and sat practice ...
