Summer activities

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
volunteering hospital, mcat prep, research, get a paid job,

why don't you do what YOU want to do instead of doing what you think all other premeds HAVE to do...

you'll get more out of it.

I've always taken the job that paid the best and never regretted it.

in this economy, it's so hard to find a job, when they know you will leave in a few months....but yeah volunteering sounds good....any other ideas?

I have a question about summer activities as well. I'm going to be going in as a freshman next year for pre-med. Should I try to get a job, volunteer at a hospital, or try to find some interesting summer programs/classes. (Or a combination of all?)

If the last option, I believe I'm a little late to be applying for such things so any advice on what to do? I basically don't have much knowledge about this kind of stuff as I don't know anyone who is pre-med or in medical school and I'm the first one in my family to go into such a field.

Working out, going to the beach, and partying it up

Well, I'm going to be splitting my time by going to Virginia for an SMDEP, working part-time at a pool, maybe shadowing/volunteering, and having fun with my friends. Hopefully I'm on the right track.
