Summer classes for this cycle?

If I enroll in a summer course right now and want to apply for this cycle (and would like to submit my application before my class is completed), how will this be taken into consideration on my application? The class is scheduled to end in August. Would I submit my application with class in progress and then be able to update my transcript on the secondaries in late August/early September?
