My college is 5 hours away from home. I am not sure if they offer inorganic/organic chemistry. So I was looking at my local community college at home and they have those courses for the summer. Would I be able to take those courses and still get credit for them for med-school, or will this be a problem?

Use the search feature....

Search "credit for CC courses" or something like that.

I was always told that you should take your med school pre-reqs at a 4-year college, not a community college. Depending on the medical school, some will accept credit from community colleges but others will ask you to retake it at a four year college.

Unfortunately I don't know of many CC's that offer organic chemistry, but plenty of them offer regular chemistry. I think the consensus is that most MD/DO schools prefer you complete your pre-reqs at a 4 year but aren't entirely opposed to one or two classes there. You will need to check with individual schools and your advisor. Another important thing to check is whether the credit is a guaranteed transfer from the CC to your regular institution.
