Summer LOR question?

I am currently taking Orgo 1, at a local state university (pretty well regarded), but I normally attend a top 40 school in florida. I really enjoy the prof, and know him pretty well considering the class is 15 kids, should I ask him for a LOR? how do adcoms look if you get a summer rec from a different UG school?

It's fine for application purposes, but if you are getting a committee letter from your real school, they may want your prof LORs from your real school as well.

Summer might be better if its a shortened semester and you get an A
