I was looking into a summer family medical program offered by the medical school in my area. The web page states that it is for high school students so I did some research and found this. It is $175 so the questions I have is should I spend the money on it because that's a lot of money for me considering I am currently jobless. It is a six day event and all meals and transportation are included in the $175. Plus, I graduate in 2011 and I would like to know if this would be a little extra "padding" in my applications to colleges. Also, the program in general just sounds interesting all together.

If you're interested, go for it. $175 is nothing compared to the debt you will incur while in school.

haha I know but there are ways to get money for that. This $175 is coming from my pockets.....well my parents pockets.

is $175, which includes room, all meals, entertainment, and transportation.

It's so freaking cheap. No wonder it's a rural family practice program. The primary purpose is to let you realize that you can't make $$$ by doing family practice in a rural area.

I would highly recommend the summer program. It will allow to see early on if the medical field is really for you and it will look great on your resume. Plus, that is dirt cheap.

Dude if I had this opportunity, I would be willing to pay 1000 dollars. You dont know how lucky you are. You should definitely do it.
