What kind of numbers do you need for SUNY Buffalo.

I'm starting at Buffalo this fall. First off, as long as your AADSAS application has a New York state address, then you'll be considered a resident for admissions purposes. If you get in, in order to pay in-state tuition, you'll need to have been a resident (or supported by your parents) as of 8/1/2005 for 8/2006 matriculation.

I'd normally give you my stats, but mine are not good ones on which to base your competitiveness, since I am an older applicant who did a post-bacc. But from what I've heard from this years incoming class, a 19 AA and 18 PAT along with an on-time application and your GPA should give you a reasonable shot. Like every other d-school this year, application numbers and stats are up from previous years, so get your app in as early as possible.

Good luck

from your stats i'd say you have a super good shot. honestly, i've heard only great things about buffalo as a dental school. I am from Rochester and my biggest deal is just living near Rochester (and in Buffalo) for 4 years, but if you have no problem with it. Everyone I've talked to who are dentists say Buffalo is a steal, and one of the best. Good luck!

What kind of numbers do you need for SUNY Buffalo. I am originally from Buffalo and plan for this to be my #1. I havent been there in 7 years and spent the last year out of NY so I hope I dont lose residency. Anyways any advice of what kind of students they take would be appreciated. I have a 3.68 BCP and 3.5 overall. Finished my pre reqs from NC State and UNC Chapel Hill. Im hesitant to shoot for UNC when I have Buffalo to my advantage. I still have a home there and good ties. Just dont know any dental students. My situation is unique that I will probably be able to pick NC or NY as my state of residency. I am up in the air with both.

i'm going to buffalo in like 3 weeks for school and from the interview process i thought they were pretty insightful about my application. for example, i had a ****load of research, which a lot of schools didn't care about, but at buffalo they asked me about it. i think they'll really like that you're from buffalo and its your number one school. i'm from sunny so cal so i felt that they were really worried i wouldn't want to go to buffalo. i for one had a 21 AA/18 PAT, which i feel is high for buffalo (minus the crappy PAT). basically, don't sweat it

Buffalo is a steal and one of the best clinical schools with great facilities. My worry is that I am out of state but I hope they see that I am from Buffalo and still have major ties there.
