Hi All,

I have been accepted into these two programs and am having a tough time deciding. Can someone tell me your opinion about either or both programs?

Thanks!

I know a little about Sage because it is about 25 minutes from where I live. I have visited it for info sessions on their program and it sounds good. Has a solid local reputation. There are a handful of good hospitals in the area which I imagine could be useful for clinical rotations.

I'm looking to apply there this cycle...any chance you'd be willing to share your stats?

Hey! I visited the school yesterday and was able to meet a few of the professors. Everyone seems nice and helpful. I really like that some professors split up the class into 2 or more groups to offer more 1 on 1 attention especially for labs. My only concerns are that the facilities are not updated and housing may be a problem (I'm not from the area and was told that the chance of getting graduate housing is very slim). Other than that, it seems like a great program and place to be.

Stats:
Undergrad cum gpa: 3.5
Prereq cum gpa: 3.4
Undergrad degree: BS in community health

I heard that the program is collaborated with a lot of the schools around the area to give priority to their students. I was accepted through the regular process so you may have a pretty good chance of getting in. Good luck! 🙂

I'm glad your visit was a positive experience for you! Thank you for sharing your stats, it sounds like we are both in the same ballpark. Hopefully it works out well!

If you do end up going to Sage and need some info on housing in different parts of town, feel free to shoot me a message. The Troy/Albany area is pretty nice for the most part but there are some areas I would not want to live right in, just like any city. I don't have specific housing info but if you are unsure of how a certain part of town is versus another I can certainly help out with that. Good luck with the rest of your decision process!
