I'm interviewing at SUNY on Tuesday! Any advice from people who've already interviewed there? Thanks 🙂

You can view the Interview Feedback thread for more info on the SUNY interviews. In my experience, it was a lot more professional than the other schools' interview days and had a tone similar to that of a job interview. However, it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be from reading the commentary on this forum. No one tried to pick me apart or zero in on my weaknesses, and everyone was warm and friendly. I haven't heard back yet, but they say they will notify you of your status by snail mail within 2 weeks of your interview. Good luck!

Remember to bring a picture of yourself. I was the one idiot in my group that didnt bring one haha.

Haha thanks, I actually remembered though 😛 Interview was pretty relaxed. How long did it take for you to hear back?

lol yea, I misread the email, i though they were going to take one of us while we were there to put in with our file.

This is a much better idea than asking for a picture, I think. One of the girls in my interview group forgot her picture, and it was not a big deal at all-- they told her to mail it to them-- so I wouldn't stress about it if you do forget.

Yea the interview wasnt nearly as bad as I was expecting based on what I read on here. I was just there last week so I havent heard anything yet, Im pretty sure they said 7-10 days so it should be any day now.

Just got a letter from them today (interviewed last tuesday). My app is on hold, i think mostly because I havent taken the OAT yet (taking it next week).

I got provisionally accepted to SUNY recently - Somewhere around 3.6 GPA overall, 3.66 GPA for science GPA, solid LOTRs, shadowing private and retail ODs (3 total) for over 100 hours total. About 2 year's worth of experience in research (part of it was partially due to previous graduate school), 1 year working at Lenscrafters (eyewear consultant) and 10 months working on optometrist side of Lenscrafters. No OAT stats because I'm not set to take it til Dec so if you haven't taken it don't lose faith! You could still get accepted
Update: OAT scores of 330 TS and 330 AA was still fine by SUNY
