Hello

I am an NY state resident. I wanted to apply to all the SUNY schools. My undergraduate GPA is about 3.46 (s3.45). I am rewriting the MCAt but my previous score was 33O.

I am hoping to apply next summer to all the SUNY schools. Do I have a chance if I apply early and get the same MCAT score?

Don't retake the MCAT unless you think you can get a 35 or better. Improving from 33 to 34 is pointless. On the other hand, falling from 33 to 32 = bad. Just take courses and get 4.0, and pull that GPA to like 3.55-3.60. Assuming you some combination of clinical shadowing, clinical volunteering, and research, a 3.55-3.6 GPA with a 33 MCAT is sufficient to have a shot a SUNY schools.

I believe these are the medians of accepted applicants:
Downstate 3.7/33
Stony Brook 3.7/33
Upstate: 3.7/32
Buffalo 3.7/31

It looks like your MCAT is fine. If you are applying next year, can you get GPA up a bit or have you graduated already?

Hello
I am rewriting the MCAt ...

You could make a lot of money leaking a few of those questions you are writing. I know what you meant, but that was still funny!

How OOS-friendly are the SUNY schools?

Admissions officers at Stony Brook and Downstate told me state residency is considered for tuition purpose only. It's not officially stated elsewhere though.

I'm under the impression that stony brook doesnt take any OOS (more or less). I could be wrong.

they take about 15% OOS each year. less than other SUNYs but it may be becuase it's in LI.
