Hi, I would like some advice about my application.

I submitted my application back in early August, and due to transcript issues, my application wasn't officially mailed out until early October. I understand that I submitted my application very late, but how badly will that affect me in receiving interviews? I have a 3.77/3.88 GPA, 25 AA DAT, over 500 hours research and volunteer work, and about 100 hours shadowing.

Any advice would be helpful, and thank you very much.

Your stats are great! If you don't get a pre-december interview then i'd say you're in a good position for a post-december interview. How many schools did you apply to?

Last year, mine was mailed out in late November and I got 3 interviews, and my stats last year were way lower that yours! You will be fine.

Mine was mailed out October 23rd and I already have 2 interviews. Our stats are very similar (you have a higher DAT and slightly higher GPA than me) but do not worry, with your stats you will be fine. Best of luck!

What are your stats? And what schools did you get interviews at?

My mail out date us the same as yours (Oct 23), but I don't have any interviews yet.

DAT Scores (PAT/QR/RC/Bio/GC/OC/TS/AA)
Sep 2014: 17/21/18/15/21/19/18/19
Sep 2015: 17/21/17/18/22/20/19/20

GPA (including +-/ without +-)
BCP: 3.28/3.30
Science: 3.38/3.39
Non-Science: 3.79/3.85
Total: 3.54/3.57

Thanks so much for the advice and encouragement!

I'm pretty broke, so I could only afford to apply to five schools total. From what I've read on SDN-- it looks like quite a few people apply to 20+ schools, which is nowhere near where I can even try to pay in terms of application fees.

Keep your head up high! I still think you have good chances for interviews depending on the schools you applied to. If you don't mind me asking, what is your state of residency? And what schools did you apply to?

I hope you get interviews! Those are awesome stats.

That's just SDN. I know some people who've applied to only 2 or 3. Probably averages around 8-10 now. You should be ok for post-december interviews! Stuff may die down a bit now but I'd bet you'll get some offers in December.

5 Schools is a good number. I applied to 7 schools. I think applying to 20+ schools is a little excessive and too way expensive so I agree with you there.
Chin up! interviews are coming your way😉
