Hi Everyone,

I've only heard back from two schools (1 interview at Howard and I was waitlisted for Buffalo). I'm really getting quite concerned about why I haven't heard back from other schools yet. I submitted July 27. Any thoughts? I've listed my stats below:

GPA
cGPA: 3.54
science: 3.32 (screwed up first year, but had all A's and a few B's during the rest of my undergrad)
BCP: 3.53
Non-science: 3.76

Canadian DAT
20 TS/ 20 AA/ 18 PAT/19 RC

Volunteering
- I have thousands of dental volunteer, administration, assisting hours (I've been working in dental environments for about 8 years)

Schools
- Boston, Case Western, Baylor, Howard, Marquette, Meharry, NYU, Roseman, Temple, Buffallo, Detroit Mercy, UMDNJ, Michigan, Minnesota, PIttsburgh, San Antonio, Houston, Pacific

Guessing since you took the Canadian DAT, you aren't from Texas. These schools probably haven't even begun to touch OOS applications and have enough interviews to fill up their classes. Texas schools, from what I hear, are dirt cheap for Texas residents (which makes these schools destination spots).

Same reasoning goes for UMDNJ, Michigan, Minnesota, Buffalo, Pitt (?) = in state tuition rocks.

Pacific = I hear they love the DAT and yours may not be high enough to make a blip on the radar.

Case and Pacific = I thought I read in another thread that they are done with pre-December interviews 🙁

You haven't heard back from other schools because most of them either favor in-state or regional applicants. The ones that are nice to OOS applicants want ones with higher stats.

UoP, all the Texas schools, Michigan, Minnesota, Pittsburgh are longshots either because of preference for instate or higher stats.

You might receive post-Dec interviews from BU, Case, Meharry (if you're URM), UDM, Temple, Roseman.

Your stats are very decent, I am surprised you were waitlisted at Buffalo.

When did you hear back from Buffalo?

I heard back from Buffalo first, so probably 2 weeks after I submitted.

How can you be waitlisted at this point? You can only be waitlisted if you've been interviewed. And you won't find that out til Dec 3rd. What did the email say exactly.

Sorry, waitlisted isn't the right word.. I was put under "continuing review"
