Supplemental app. fees are an extra $50 each (ouch) for ICO, SCO, and NOVA. Couldn't find the fee for SUNY or NECO although they say they're gonna have them.

Applying to 5 schools will now cost $555. ($305 for 5 schools through OptomCAS + 250 more for 5 supplemental.)

Anyone have any other info. for other schools?

All I know is that I'm going to be broke by the end of this. I can't believe how ridiculously expensive all this is now, thanks to OPTOMCAS.

haha, I sound so bitter...

Education has always been expensive. That's how graduates are often held back with their plans because of these debts ... urgh

The schools send supplementals AFTER you submit OptomCAS....correct?? Berkeley is the only school in the primary app that has additional questions?

When i applied in 2005, there was only one application fee per school which was about $40-50 dollars.

Don't forget about your interview fees (plane ticket, hotel) as well. It's really hard for a student with undergrad loans to apply to grad school.

Just a tip --
Before you apply for each school, ask yourself if you would accept an interview from that school if you are offered one. Think about this carefully, because if you won't, then there's no point in applying to that school. It's easy to spend lots of money on this OPTOMCAS thing, when the thing you should be saving for is the cost of interviews. By the time you are offered an interview, chances are you know the same amount of info about that school as when you applied. Therefore, in most circumstances you should be able to decide whether you will attend an interview or not, BEFORE you spend that extra $45 applying to that school.
