Hi! I was just wondering if we need to get in supplementary apps and fees ASAP or if we just have to get them in sometime in the next couple of weeks. I know that our apps haven't been sent out to schools yet and that a lot of schools don't review any apps until late July or even August. I've been working on them a little bit every day but I just want to make sure I won't be late so I figured I'd see if anyone has any experience with it. Thanks!

From my understanding, it depends on when the school reviews apps. But once the review process begins, yours won't get reviewed until the fee is received.

So you're good to go for the schools who don't review until mid-july/august.

Alright...thanks! I am planning on getting everything done and in by this coming Sunday at the latest so they will be in before July but I just wanted to make sure that if my app is sent out in the first mailing on June 23rd that schools wouldn't toss it aside because I didn't have my supplementary apps and fees in before that date. I need money to pay the fees lol (this process is making me broke haha) and I get paid friday so I could pay the rest of my supplementary fees then.

yes, I think the school will not review your file unless they recieve the processing fees. However, since the school will not able to recieve your file as early as June 23rd, I would say you can submit those applications and processing fees when AADSAS mail out your application

Yeah, this process is really breaking the bank. I need to get sufficiently drunk to write some of these checks.

Totally agree lol I get paid on friday so I'll be finishing writing my checks, doing supplementary applications, etc. on friday and saturday. Can't wait til all of this is done and I can just sit and wait. I'm still waiting on two letter of recommendation though too so that has been stressful also.

Tell me about it. I'm about to call up other people to borrow money for all the supplemental fees. As if the $1,100 I paid via AADSAS wasn't enough!!

PLEASE ANSWER THIS

So If I'm correct...We only have to send out the fees and secondaries for the schools that specifically request that we send them once we submit the application. Because I will be e- submitting my app at the end of this week but my DAT is July 25th. So do i send out the fees and secondaries to the designated schools at end of the week or after my DAT? Please help me out Im a bit confused!

Thank so much in advance!

Look at the AADSAS pdf file with secondary information. Some schools require you to send checks for application fees via mail, pictures, essays, etc. Not every school will email you.

However, the AADSAS guide is only a rough estimate, so to speak. Check every dental school's admissions procedures on their website. It will give you more specifics on what to do.

According to the pdf, University of Pittsburgh says to mail them at the same time you turn in your primary. However, their website says to turn in the supplementary app one month AFTER you turn in your primary....
