I have submitted my OptomCAS application and am working on supplemental applications right now. These are quite a pain, especially since most are an extra $50. Western's application asks for all of my optometric experience and why that impacted my decision to become an optometrist. I elaborated on this in GREAT detail in my primary application. Can I just shorten my optometric experience info, since they are going to read my primary application anyway? Or are they expecting new and more in depth info? I have a lot of experience and goals in optometry, and don't want to overwhelm them with like 5000 characters of stuff that they are going to read in my primary application anyway.

Sell yourself. Don't assume that the primary application will be read, so you can just tell the short version in the supplemental. This is your time to shine, so make it interesting and grab their attention through your essay.

I felt the same way you are feeling when I started my supplementals, but I knew it was the last chance I could prove myself to convince the admissions committee. It kind of feels repetitive but I guess that's just the way it is. Applying takes a lot of work and time; it's not easy : /

Don' just copy and paste, the admissions committee will definitely see that. I treated my supplemental application like another personal statement.
