I am apply to UF's med school and I filled out the supplemental application where I had to establish residency and give general info, which was similar to USF's secondary, just without the essay. Being that UF doesn't ask for essays on the secondary unless reapplying and they ask for the app fee on the supplemental application, then what exactly is on the secondary? 😕

...but on the supplemental it eplicitly stated, this is NOT the secondary. ???

"The Applicant Information Form is not the UF College of Medicine secondary application."

Ok so maybe they called it an information sheet, but the question still stands...

i would love to know the answer to this question too. I experienced the same thing. does anybody know?

I don't mean to be rude, but who really cares? The schools will give you all of the forms you need in order to complete your application. Generally, I would say that supplemental = secondary, but if the school explicitly states that they are different, then they are different for that particular school.

I care because I am curious and I want to know what to expect...call it being neurotic or whatever, but that isn't really departing from the normal around this site haha 😉

I care because they ask for a $30 fee for the supplementary/info form and then they might turn around an ask for another fee for the secondary. I don't want to be doubled billed twice, if I shouldn't be.

The form you were sent today IS NOT the secondary application for UF. It is only to establish whether you are a Florida resident. When/If you receive the supplemental application, it will be via email with a series of word documents attached detailing the research track, peer letter clarification, and supplemental application form.

UF does screen so it may take them a while to look at your verified AMCAS info and make a decision about a secondary.

If you are given the secondary, there will not be an additional fee. The $30 fee for residency verification is the only fee.

I wondered the same thing, but I looked on the FAQs on their website and they specifically say that the college of medicine does not charge a fee for the secondary. Only the graduate school charges the $30 fee.
