On the LECOM app is there is a word limit to their personal statement? And also, am I supposed to handwrite my personal statement or can I just type it and attach it?
I would just call LECOM myself but due to the holidays I have been unable to reach them..so I would appreciate any help you can provide.

I never applied to LECOM but from the other schools I applied to. It was perfectly alright to type up the PS and attach it. I limited my personal statements to one page typed.

Best of Luck!

for Lecom-Erie I tried to stay around 500 words for my secondary statement of "Write a personal essay describing yourself and qualities you possess which will make you a successful osteopathic physician". I typed it, printed it out and attached it.

At the bottom of the page it says, "Additional pages can be added." BUT, they are not looking for a personal statement here. They already have one of those from your primary application. They want an essay that describes the qualities that will "make you a successful osteopathic physician." Try to avois a re-hashing of the same things you said in your personal statement before. They don't give you a lot of space in the secondary because they really don't need a long answer. Sell yourself, but try to say it as consisely as possible. It's a lot like a resume...no one wants to read one that is more than a page long.

Keep it brief!!! If they wanted three pages, they'd tell you that. I hand wrote my "essay" into the space provided, with no attachments, and got into both Erie and Bradenton.
