Surgeons in Chicago??

Does anyone know any good orthopedic surgeons in Chicago? My cat broke the head of his femur and xrays show he needs a femoral head ostectomy. I haven't been in Chicago very long at all and was wondering if any of you have suggestions. I'm pretty desperate so anything would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Most vets have a favourite surgeon or two that they refer clients to. Did this not happen in your case (whoever took the radiographs should have referred you if they couldn't do the surgery)? Or did you move after the incident but before the surgery?

Yes! I actually worked for a hospital that has two wonderful boarded surgeons! They work out of Animal Emergency and Referral Center in Northbrook off of I-94. Their names are Dr. Jackson and Dr. Averill, and they are both wonderful! Let me know if you have any other questions!

FTR, it doesn't take a boarded surgeon to do a FHO.

Taking stuff out/off is easy; putting it back together is the hard part and where you may want some additional letters involved to increase the chances of a good outcome... 🙂

Thank you for all your help! I finally found someone for a very reasonable price and had the surgery done yesterday. I just brought him home today and he's a little drugged out but I think it went very well 🙂
