For previous surgery A.I.'s, what material/sources did you read up on before starting the A.I.? I remember from the clerkship they gave us Lawerence to borrow. Obviously didn't have time to read it during the clerkship... Is this good enough for an A.I.?

I actually read Schwartz - i.e. the type of textbook that they'll expect you to start reading as an intern. Depending on the nature of your A.I., Lawrence may be enough. For me, though, I knew that it wasn't going to be!

spoke to an upper-classman that matched surgery. I was told to go get surgical recall and know it well. Its quick and easy to go through.

Depends if you want to learn or just know the answers to pimp questions...

if you're doing an A.I. in surgery because you want to become a surgeon, I suggest reading Schwartz. If you're doing an A.I. because your school requires it, just read recall.
