Surgery elective at Hawaii

I was considering doing a surgery 4th year elective in Hawaii. Has anyone heard anything about it? I found some info from 2002 and it looked really bad. Has anyone heard anything?

If you're going to go to Hawaii as a "vacation" type elective, why would you pick something like surgery. Even if you're going into surgery, do something related with easier hours so you can enjoy the location (Path, EM, radiology) and still not be wasting your time.
