Quick question regarding ERAS I've been confused about. Have received varying advice. Basically I had to retake the surgery shelf and passed the second time. The only place this is mentioned is the MSPE, not on the transcript - still passed surgery clerkship. NOT applying surg.

Confused about if this is significant enough to write about in my PS. Since it's not a USMLE or repeating a course/clerkship, I'm unsure if I should include it.

Do not put it in your PS. Your PS should focus on all your positives and what you will bring to a program.

Agree that the only reason to mention this in your PS is if it was a recurring issue that you overcame due to recognizing and addressing a problem in your studying/learning process. You bring that up because it shows personal insight and growth. If it was a one-off thing, don't bring any more attention to it than necessary.

Not sure who's giving you "varying advice" but clearly, some people shouldn't be giving it.

Have an answer for it in interviews but don’t bring attention to it yourself

Op- this is a case of not everyone you talk to will have you best interest at heart. Anyone with a brain would tell you no, do not put something small like this in your PS. Whoever told you otherwise secretly doesn't want you to succeed. Better learn to identify this BS now before residency and figure out who you can and cannot trust!
