Dear Forum Users & Stalkers

My name is Kell and this is my first time posting so please forgive me if this topic is inappropriately located. I am a medical student somewhere in the Southern hemisphere.

Anyway, recently I have been chosen as the student surgical representative for my particular hospital. Essentially my job involves things like organising surgical workshops and talks etc.

This is my first time doing this kind of job so I am asking for some input on the international stage. I (try to) value all input and questions.

From a medical student's perspective what kind of talks or practical workshops would you like to attend? It is a rather vague question I know but feel free to ask me questions.

Suturing always goes down well.
Examination of a patient-I don't know if you do OSCEs but things like periphereal vascular examination, examination of varicose veins and hernias are always good and commonly examined.
Case report days can be easily set up.

Offer to print certificates etc and highlight the importance of CV building to doctors in training who can do these sort of things, they will be happy to oblige if they can put down 'ran surgical workshop day-taught medical students' etc on their cv.
