Checking into the hospital tomorrow morning for major surgery. Would sure appreciate it if those of you who believe in a higher power could send up a prayer for me, and for those who are less spiritually minded, if you could shoot a positive thought in the direction of Fort Collins that would be great.

Doc doesn't know how bad it'll be, so I could be in the hospital for 1 night or it could be closer to 7.

At least it'll give me a chance to catch up on some sleep! At 11 am tomorrow, I'll be 😴

Hope the surgery goes well and you get good news both there and from vet schools! It'll be nice to have some time to rest and get some down time, that's so rare to get. We'll be thinking of you! :xf:

HAHA! Well, it's abdominal surgery and I only have one of those so I should be ok (as long as some nitwit doesn't decide to lop off a breast or an arm while they're at it!)

Make sure you check your hospital bracelet! When I had surgery a couple years ago they gave me another person's bracelet. Let's just say I did NOT want the surgery they were getting. Thankfully, I checked it as soon as I sat back down in the waiting room and they were able to get it cleared up. I hope everything come out great and you get better super soon!

I was travelling to an interview and didn't see this until today. Hope the surgery went well and that healing is speedy so you can get out of the hospital quickly!

Hey y'all,

Thank you to everyone who kept me in their thoughts. It must have worked! I am sore and tired, but otherwise ok.

Had a bit of a complication involving an unexpectedly violent sneeze, but the resulting damage seems to be healing nicely now.

It'll take me a while to get caught up on everything I've missed in the last week, so I'm glad classes haven't started yet! I am SO not in the mood to go back to school. ick.

Anyway, again, a BIG THANK YOU to everyone for the support. SDN rocks! Even though I've had MANY surgeries, this was the only surgery I've ever been scared about. I had that evil voice in my ear telling me that now that all my hard work had paid off and I had succeeded in getting accepted to vet school, this would be the surgery that would kill me. (my evil voice loves irony.) Glad to tell that voice to Hit the road, Jack!
