I'm a business major.

One of my critical tracking courses is survey of calc. I know that 26 or so med schools require you to take calculus. Will survey of calc count for this? Or will have have to take calc with trig (the regular class) to apply to those schools. I allready know that I may have to ask the specific school, however, I thought I would go ahead and ask you all first. I have allready contacted the business school at UF and they told me that regular calculus won't count for the major (I have to take survey).

What the hell is a "survey" of calculus? How does that differ from regular calculus?

No trig. It's a hell-of-alot easier. More word problems/business oriented. I'll probably just end up taking both or ask an advisor.

Yeah but excluding trig doesn't make the concepts any more easier than if they were already there. If you can get the regular stuff then the trig stuff should follow the same.

It's not easier because of the trig.

That's probably a question for each individual admissions office you're going to be dealing with. You might want to go ahead and take Calc 1 (and 2?) anyway just to cover yourself. Calc 1 will definitely be useful in your business classes, even if the B-school doesn't accept it as part of the major.
