this current fourth year was advising me on step 2 stuff today. among the usual advice and hints, he told me that one of the best sources he used for step 2 was swanson's FP workbook. i thought he was kidding. so i asked another fourth year if this is common. and her response was "definitely. i used it and helped me alot". can anybody else confirm or deny this? anybody have personal experience on this? 😕

Swanson's question style is very different from Step 2 or 3 and asks a lot of procedural stuff, ethics, law. Lots of common sense stuff. Questions are much shorter than Steps. Plus there are still some errors in the new edition.

I would not bother using it. Have a quick look at it and decide for yourself.
Take NMS, First Aid and you should be fine. No real need for Kaplan either. If you can get the q-book from someone, go for it. But you don't really need it.

I have passed all 3 Steps with high results.

I thought Swanson's was the most worthless book for FP, so I wouldn't imagine how it could help for Step 2... 😕
