So UWorld says that sweating is an adrenergic symptom. But my pharm studying shows that sweat glands are activated by acetylcholine....!

Can someone help me with this? I don't understand how a cholinergic process can be related to sympathetics?

ach activates the sweat glands; its SNS but doesnt use NE as a NT. Same thing with the adrenals releasing EPI; it uses ACH as a NT

Thick skin sweat glands are adrenergic. All others are cholinergic sympathetic.

So it depends on which sweat glands you're talking about.

........adrenal medulla and sweat glands are part of the sympathetic nervous system but are innervated by cholinergic fibers.

Thermoregulatoy sweating (to cool yourself on a hot day) is mediated by cholinergic sympathetic neurons.

Stress sweating (e.g. when you're nervous or taking a sympathomimetic) on palms, soles, armpits, etc. is mediated by adrenergic sympathetic neurons (mostly alpha-1).

I don't have UWorld, so I'm no sure if that's what it was referring to.
