I m thinking of changing IM to neuro after termination at the point of one yr and nine months of residency. How tough it is to get in after the stigma of termination. My program director is ready to write me a LOR for neuro. Please advice

the same PD that terminated your contract is willing to give you a LOR for Neuro? strange.

And you need a year of medicine in many places anyway.

If your PD writes you a nice letter, you shouldn't have too many problems.
There are many reasons for termination, and not all of them mean you're a bad doctor. The reason for your termination, especially in the middle of the year, will have to be addressed.
