My brother's teenage years could be summed up thusly - throws a cherry bomb in the girls' bathroom, turns around to run, knocks the vice principal into some thorny shrubbery. He just could not catch a break ...

His little brother was kind of a brat, too.

You don't say.

Funny. My high school years alternated between 'what college do you want to go to?' and 'can you pass this class so you can graduate on time?'

Honestly if you get that riled up over tkim's legitimate question (a pre-med giving advice to residents on residency issues is odd) you will have a hard time in medical school/residency where you will get busted on/called out frequently. Just cool it, he was just curious, so was I. Everyone lets just be friends

Dude, shut up already.

Ok, does that qualify as obnoxious PGG?

And what about the wannabe comment?

Ha. Somebody is upset even though school is almost out for the day...

Saying that as many times as you like won't make it true. As it stands every poster has echoed what I said, well except for Jet but he loco. I asked because premeds giving residency advice is not the norm, except for the know-it-all premeds. And as mentioned mutliple times, it's not the advice, but the attitude given when asked.

You keep crowing about school. I got some news. I'm done with school. You have yet to begin. How's that for schooling.

I'll be fine in med school (PGG said so and hes an attending and you're a med student so, ya know, he is MORE qualified to offer advice. But thanks). It was valid. We've covered this. It was just asked rudely, and unlike the naysayers who are even keeled 24/7, I was in a mood. Let's move on peeps.

it's not medical advice. that's how. it's career advice and i've had a successful career. as a matter of fact, let's go there, MAYBE my career has been more successful than TKim's? Relatively. Maybe I have 1000 accolades on my wall, and he is just learning to use a Parking Pass. You want my GENERAL CAREER ADVICE, or TKIMS?
In ANY FIELD.

As an example, you want to get CAREER ADVICE from someone 12 seconds out of residency, who hasn't even HAD a private practice career, for example, or you want it from JET? Who has been at it for 15 years? Both MDs. One just happens to bring more KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE to the CAREER situation. Period.

Slavin, I could be dressed in a bunny suit, the DUDE was asking about how to handle a stressful WORK situation. I offered advice. The only logical answer to this situation is, you don't like that I offered some advice about something that was so minutely medical field related, as compared to giving an ANESTHETIC, seriously, that it perturbs you. Nothing else makes sense. It's a ridiculous argument.

Oh, I gave the same advice as an attending. Crazy. Isn't it. So, it's not the ADVICE that was bad 😀 😀 😀 😀 it was, OUTSIDE A CLINICAL SCENARIO, medical field related CAREER advice that a pre-med gave that irks you. Ok. I don't see the logic. Especially after explaining a little background. If this happened in person, you wouldn't blink an eye. I think there are some bored peeps here...

this is semantics. medical advice vs career advice. the OP came onto an anesthesiologist forum and asked a question specifically about switching from rads to anesthesia. this is not a general career question, which, i agree, you would be qualified to answer. i'm not perturbed or irked. i simply agreed with tkim that you were presumptuous to answer a question that was not asked of you. whether your answer was correct or not is not of consequence (and i believe periopdoc got it right - the OP needs a different program, not a different specialty).

you clearly do Know Things - you shine arrogance. your neverending replies are born of your Internal Disquiet - nothing else could be so motivating. many midlevels share your feelings - why not just become that which you desire?

i do wish you the best in medical school, residency, and attendingship. why not just Bow Your Head and get going?

Place me in Jets company any day of the week my friend. And another RESIDENT above that you missed PapaSmurf. Jets loco? Works for me. I know him and if that's loco, deem me loco.

It's not the question, it's the attitude given when asked. You GETTING IT?

Congrats Doctor, I'll be a doctor too. And then we can compare genuinely which one is more of a jerk with the MD on the wall. (and that would be you.). Here's some news for u, make it to the top of your career and call me when u do. you sound FRESH and naive.

As an ER doc, I'm not sure what mean by 'the top of my career'? I have a job, in the area I want to live, at the hospital I wanted to work in. Partnership in six months. I'm already there. Where are you?

The one who sounds naive right now is you, unfortunately.

This whole THREAD is semantics.

So according to you im qualified but presumptuous?

Whatevs.

I really don't care who takes whose side. If I did I'd be a sell out.

Never-ending posts? Click somewhere else. Diagnosing me on an anonymous board...internal disquiet. Oy.

Here was an option nobody realizes: answer the f£$^6ING OPs initial reply, like I did, and not concern yourself with the TITLE of a poster who gave good advice initially. How's that for some perspective Slavin. focus on doing some good as opposed to being a yenta concerned with things in life that are TINY.

It's around post 60 and I'm on my iPhone. Thus, I've lost interest in your replies. Congrats on your successes.

yeah i am sure you will be fine, but with a hot-headed attitude like that you will burn lots of bridges. sometimes you just have to take your lumps. the less ego we have in medicine the better

cool it dude.

you missed my point - i implied you were not qualified. this made your answer presumptuous.

qualified folks did answer the OP's question - this is why your answer stuck out.

take the advice coming at you from folks ahead of you - proceed with a cool and humble attitude, and understand your place. work hard at your role and the respect you crave will come.

i don't have to tell you to keep posting here - you will - i enjoy reading your writing (some of it)..

haha is this some sort of reverse psychology to get him to stop?

Kid pumping gas outside the brake shop: "Hey mister, you need new calipers and rotors."

Do you drop a grand on his say so?

Or do you wait for the brake guy to say it.

C'mon Jet. Do you take flying advice from the guy contemplating going to flight school?

Dude, the most important thing right now considering I'm off work and Hottie isn't home yet is

I'm thoroughly entertained!!!"👍
