Switching Medical Schools

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Thank you all for the input.

I have decided to apply this summer to other schools. I have decided to rewrite my MCAT with the hope of getting accepted to better schools.

PS: I am an M2. I realized that if I was after a competitive speciality, I would have to take a research year anyway, so I am not really "losing" as many years as I initially thought.

But you are though. Unless you meant that you would take a research year at your current school but wouldn't have to at another?

Exactly, I would have to take a research year to be competitive. With hindsight, as an M1, I can get involved in research and get some publications without having to take a research year at my "new" school.

I think the point is sometimes you can find yourself in a group of people who really are all annoying. However, I think that's relatively rare. In most cases, if every single person you interact with is a problem, you are most likely the problem. With OP, I'm leaning towards the latter situation. Classmates who dare to be Hispanic*? Pre-clinical instructors who focus on minutiae?? The horrors!! OP would likely be unhappy at any other school.

*I'm curious which US allo school is majority Hispanic to the point that pre-clinical students just walk around speaking Spanish to each other all day.

Besides the Puerto Rican schools, Texas Tech-El Paso comes to mind. El Paso has a pretty significant Hispanic population and the school has a Spanish language focus.

Have you even confirmed with administration is this is possible tho?
