I would like to switch from pgy 1 IM to Ob/Gyn.

What is better to use to find an off-cycle opening? findaresident.com or residentswap.org? Does anyone have good/bad experiences with either?

I used ResidentSwap. I got 3 interviews and got accepted at my current spot. Just look at the # of openings.

I've never heard of findaresident doing anyone any good. Anyone out there with contrary information feel free to correct me.

I don't know about residentswap.org.

The best place by far for OBG residency openings is on the CREOG site at
http://www.acog.org/ go to the CREOG (Education) tab and find the CREOG clearinghouse. The CREOG clearinghouse lists many of the openings for OBG. The present listing has two PGY1 openings.

If you decide to apply for either of these PM me as I know a something about them.
