I've lived there for 10 years. It is a very diverse city. Occasionally, movies are played in Syracuse before they're played nationwide. Because of the diversity, producers can gauge whether they need to make changes to the film. They can also determine if the film will attract certain races or genders more than others. 🙂
I agree. Syracuse is not only ethnically diverse, it is also socio-economically diverse. I've heard it called a "microcosm" of the US by some of my undergrad professors at SU.
