Can anyone comment on T.H.E. vs. US Bank for my Federal money lender? US Bank has a 5% rebate they credit to your account after 36 on time payments vs. T.H.E. has 1.3% rebate they credit monthly if not 60days deliquent. Right now I am thinking US Bank because that 5% is big! Thanks for your thoughts.

Good Question - Any thoughts from anyone BUMP

I went with T.H.E. While the 5% after 36 months seems nice to me I can't help but worry that I'll consolidate before then and lose the refund. (If I understand the terms of consolidation correctly.) Also there's a little paranoid part of me that thinks 3 years is an awful long time for something to get messed up in the mail and have a late payment ruin my chances of the 5% off.

Just my thoughts on the matter, take them with a grain of salt, I'm by no means an expert here.

While I don't know anything about US bank, I've been very pleased with THE so far. Their customer service is quite good whenever I've called them with a question. It really sounds like you've narrowed it down to two good lenders and whichever way your 'gut' leads you will most likely be the answer.
