What does this mean? The 8 is much lower than anything I've had in the past. It seriously sucks when the final score is no where near the diagnostic (if it's lower 🙂). Anyways, how likely is it that the schools I've applied to are going to look at this and say "Hm, that doesn't add up. Maybe this isn't representative of her verbal skills if she can get the highest verbal score." Does the T help the 8?

I think it does, as long as the adcoms look at the writing score. Sadly, some of them don't even know what the letter stands for.

The writing sample is more of an assessment of your ability to compose a grammatically sound response without contradicting yourself in the process. Yes, it does analyze your ability to critically think on some level but not in the same way the verbal reasoning section does. My personal advice is if what you scored on the MCAT is not typical of what you have been able to score on the practice tests, then you wouldn't be risking much by studying a little more and retaking.

No, sorry buddy but your T in writting will not help your verbal score due to the fact that these two sections test two different aspects of your abilities. The T in writting says that you can formulate a sentence, and the 8 in verbal says that your analytical reasoning may need improvement.

Hey my fault, I was not reffering to you especially, my intention was not to attack you in any way, am having a tough time with verbal also. I just started practicing the EK verbal tests and am averaging 7s and am terrified that I may not improve. So don't be offended by my comment.

It makes you look like you didnt care enough to study the Verbal, like you could have done better on the Verbal but just didnt try.
