Hey Everyone,

I'm a T1 who starts medical school next week. I've already had orientation, and have gathered a lot of input from my upperclassmen on what books I will or won't need for this upcoming year. However, most of this advice pertains to class related materials, not so much for the boards.

While I want to do well in my classes (strict P/F), my focus is mainly around the Step I. I have heard that some supplement what they learn in class with review materials for the boards, and I want to do this as well. This year I will be taking Anatomy, Biochem, Physiology, Embryology, Neuro, and Histo. Basically, I'm wondering what books I should buy that will supplement my coursework, but more importantly, will emphasize the material that is likely to be tested in the Step I.

Thanks for your help, and please, tell me WHY you recommend a particular book.

T1? You are a type of digital carrier circuit faster than regular broadband? 😕

Around here, MSI is TI. 🙂

imho, using board review materials during 1st year is a waste. just focus on learning the material.

costanzo is a great text for physio, netter's is essential for anatomy. That's all you need, but Concise text of neuroscience is also good.
