Does anyone know what types of tail coverage are available for physiatrists, and approximately how much it would cost for 6 months of work? Im planning on working with someone (doing general physiatry) for 6 months before starting a fellowship. Just wondering if anyone had any quotes or any ideas on how I could get quotes.

Thanks

Call the insurance company you are getting your malpractice insurance from. Alternatively, if the guy you are working with is paying for your malpractice, why not just have him get you an occurrence policy, rather than a claims made one? That way there will be no need for a tail.

Also if you set it up like a locum tenens, it is easier to arrange the insurance.

how would you go about setting up as locums?

Lawyer writes the contract that way for the job, insurance underwrites it that way for malpractice and tail. Quite common.
