I have worked at my current job 24 months. I am leaving the job for new employment.

1) Current employer will pay for 25% of tail coverage, per agreement.

2) New employer will pay for full tail coverage, if I leave at end of contract.

QUESTIONS:
1) What is best way to shop for tail/nose coverage?
2) Am I restricted to buy coverage from my current insurance or my new practice insurance?
3) Can I shop around to any insurance companies?
4) Any recommendations for good affordable coverage?

Thanks

Current carrier quoting me $31,150 for tail

You left out a few details which would be helpful to know. With respects to your new employer what do they consider "End of contract?"

You can speak to any carrier about tail coverage. Those earning your new business may be willing to provide this at a cheaper cost.

Since you're in California, I'd recommend CAP. http://www.capphysicians.com/
They treated me well when I was paying for my own malpractice.

My new employer and new contract will cover tail when I leave there
Haven't yet started there

They just require me to have tail before I start

Current malpractice company also suggested if I don't want to pay $31,000 I can go on a solo policy now + tail coverage for $14,300. Basically since I have 3 months left at current employment I would be solo for next three month instead of on group policy

I will call the link you provided

Thank you
