Hey guys, I recently just finished what seems to be my final interview (at Michigan) and I've been so happy to be done with interviews. I'd love to have more, but personally, these interviews have caused me a lot of stress and I'm sure they've caused you guys some nerve wrecking anticipation as well! So, my reason for this post was basically for it to be a get away from all of the academic stuff that we worry about constantly. Let's all get to know each other a little better.

JUST KIDDING, I just wanted a laugh 🙂, I DO NOT WANT TO SEE A DAT SCORE HERE PLEASE! Last thing I'd like to know about you; what's the happiest moment you've ever had in your life?

You guys don't have to answer all, hell don't answer any of you don't want to, but I'm just giving different questions for people to find ease in this . I'm excited to learn about you guys and I'll start so you guys can learn about me.

I'm a male from Chicago, I workout but I also smoke hookah (notice the name), my favorite artist is currently a three way tie between eminem, j cole and tupac. I'd love to vacation anywhere tropical, I've lived in Chicago all my life and this 4season/day story is not fun, my role model is my mom, she doesn't agree but she is. And finally, the best moment I've ever had was when I laid eyes on my niece! I love her to death and can't wait to have a child of my own!

I'm Rachel from Texas. I love cooking & League (though I don't really play anymore - or during school). I would love to travel around the world, but haven't been doing so for the past few years 🙁. Anywhere not super mainstream, except Japan. I love hip hop/rap - yes, my favorite English language (weird way to phrase it) artist is Drake. Don't hate. I've been listening to music I don't understand (mainly KPOP) since 6th grade so I'm desensitized to lyrics hence why those bad American rap songs are on my phone. Currently I'm obsessed with listening/singing to Vietnamese music though - trying to improve my Viet through this! 🙂 My role model is my sister - seeing her excel with Architecture is exciting. Can't wait to be able to be hands on like her, but with dentistry!

I'm in Buffalo experiencing some beautiful snow right now (not really, damn snow.) Currently a Junior at Buffalo so I'll be applying next cycle! My main hobby is cooking, I cook a lot and who ever lives with me is always well fed (I try to cook a new thing every week). On top of cooking, I like baking breads and brewing coffee (I have so much coffee gear it's like an orgo lab in my house).

My other hobby is fashion, not really into the runway scene but I love seeing the latest and greatest in clothes, I can't afford all of it so that sucks, but I do what I can to keep a sick wardrobe. My music taste is everywhere, Buffalo has a really good Indie/alt scene so I love a lot of bands like Vampire weekend, Hozier, Vance Joy, AM but rap is my main thang (Earl, Mac Miller, Kendrick, Drizzy, Weezy, Yeezy, RTJ) and I also love Jazz and Sinatra.

Outside of school I really just like to relax, play some smash bros, watch some netflix and chill around the town with people. I'm a really chill guy that likes to hang out and mess around, drink some booze and share some stories. I've been told I am very sarcastic and funny but I can't comment on that. Anyway, you all seem awesome and I hope my dental class will have some chill people like all of you!

Can I ask where do you find inspiration on what to cook (different stuff every week?!)? I'm a visual person - so I need pictures before deciding on an item. It's so hard to find healthy recipes; Pinterest sucks.

Im from all over, currently in WA but legal resident of another state.

Hobbies? Used draw anime all the time, I still draw but nowhere near as much. I read a ton about science and history-- Im like the hungry hungry hippo but for knowledge. Another favorite hobby, making plans and carrying them out. Strange, I know, but it makes me feel like a kid again playing RPG/strategy games.

Favorite music? Dont really know any names, I thumbs up whatever I like that pandora plays.

Vacation spot: anywhere but tourist areas, very hot areas and places where the food/water can make you sick or you can catch some superbug.

Favorite sport: football, especially in the snow.

Role model: my best bud. Dude is exactly like me but better in every way and Im no slouch. A turning point in my life was when I met him 3yrs ago.

Happiest moment? Meeting my gf after going through tons of other girls and drama/weirdness (more than one chick threatened me with suicide, another was a depressed but cute racist, a handful were your standard crazies and the rest were cool/normal but just not what I want in a future wife-- Im very picky).

I know you dont want to hear this one but a close runner-up for happiest moment was seeing that 24AA pop up on the computer screen after months of brutal studying and during the test thinking I bombed. That moment was intense, I had everything riding on that score.

I also could hardly wait to have kids myself. I imagine that (and getting into D school) will easily top all current best moments.

Gosh, my cooking inspiration stems alllll the way back to the days of my childhood where I would watch Alton Brown cook and just watch Food Network. As for now, I take a lot of my consideration from various websites, Kenji writes a column called Foodlab on http://www.seriouseats.com/. It's really cool because he gets all scientific and does multiple experiments. I use reddit a lot and I'm subscribed to a lot of food subreddits like reddit.com/r/food so if something catches my eye I'll cook it. I actually wanted to be a chef before being a Dentist so cooking is one of my favorite hobbies. If you're starting out, I'd recommend tasting,smelling, and feeling all ingredients. Get acquainted with what works and what doesn't. Don't be afraid to expand outside of your boundaries and try some recipes from different cultures. After a while you can pretty much just look at your pantry and come up with a dish on your own! It's a fantastic hobby that saves a lot of money and always woos people over. The downside is that it's time consuming sometimes and it makes eating out a drag since you're always like "I could've done this better at a cheaper price". Hell I can go to most restaurants, taste a dish, and recognize what's in it and duplicate it.

I LOVE anything Korean, so when I read your post, I got semi-excited. xD I even minored in Korean and found myself a Korean guy. Haha.

I was born and raised in Washington state. I would honestly never leave this place either.

My favorite hobby is drawing (realism), reading (mysteries and thrillers), and rewatching sitcoms. My favorite show is Friends, which I have literally seen more than 5 times through.

My favorite music artist is a Korean singer, so I'm not too sure if anyone would be familiar with him (except maybe you, s2mySerendipity 😛). He has an amazing voice that gets me every time! And in general, I like listening to Korean music (although I'm wayyy past that K-pop phase - K-pop these days has gone downhill).

My ideal vacation spot is... can you guess it? KOREA. I have only been there once, but I would LOVE to go again. I have plans for going this winter break to visit my boyfriend - I can't wait!!! Just 5 more weeks of school...

I'm not much of a sporty person, but I used to do recreational long distance running. These days, I just do those home workout videos (Insanity, or the Asylum, anyone?). For watching, I occasionally watch football or soccer.

My role model is my dad. He has a crazy background story of survival and perseverance. If I could be just half the person he was, I would be set to tackle anything in life.

My happiest moment, thus far, was Dec. 2, 2013, when I found out I was accepted to my dream dental school. 🙂 I'd wager that might become the happiest moment for a lot of people here, one month later. Close runner up would be the day my now-boyfriend called me at 3:00AM to meet him outside, almost 2 years ago.

My name is Bobby. I am from Texas, and have been living here throughout my life. Some of the things I like to do here is biking and other cool outdoor activities (kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking). The more recent thing that I went to was the Jason Mraz concert! I really enjoy going to concerts and broadway shows (Wicked, Lion King). I also like playing with my dog and teaching him new tricks. It's a Shiba Inu if anyone wanted to know what breed it is!

I pretty much like all types of music. One of the things I like to do is find some of the main stream songs from the radio and download the piano version through Spotify. It is definitely relaxing to listen to these kind of music when I am studying or just laying around on my bed.

One of my vacation spot that I would like to go is Bolivia (Where the amazing salt flats are at), it's literally one big mirror on the ground. Maybe one day I can go whenever I am rich!

My role model is pretty much my parents. The things they do and how much they show love and care towards my siblings and I. Hopefully, one day I can follow their path in success and be able understand life like the way they do.

My happiest moment is the time I met my girlfriend. Growing up in college, it was pretty hard to find people to hang out with since I commuted for the first two years. In addition to that, my parents are gone and my siblings are busy with their kids and their work life. During that time when I met her, it felt that she was the only one there.

I hate when people ask for recipes because I just never know measurements for anything! I know what you mean too - I get yelled at for cooking certain things back at home when I could "simply buy it".

김범수 (Kim Bum Soo)? He's really famous in Korea. 🙂 I'm also part Vietnamese (@Weakfart )and I speak the language, but my love for Korean definitely overshadowed it. How far are you in terms of Korean classes?

But French is cool too, especially since our food is almost 1/2 French aha & thank you for that website, I've been on it all day, even during lectures :X. Can't wait for winter break when there's actually time to experiment! I just wish someone would clean up after my mess, the worst part of cooking.

@y3nd0 Oh I know those two artists! Very feels-y. Even though I'm out of my phase, my music collection is still heavily Korean (90% to like...50% now). And girllll, I'm in Korean I, only know half of what you said!

@BabyShades Your post made me smile! 🙂 I see you on the forum a lot - stop stressing! The Houston dental students I met advised my group to not stress especially when it's Dec. 1st also - since a handful of them did not get accepted right away either! I met a D3 who applied 4 times, and even a girl who got accepted right before week of Orientation. Just wanted to say don't stress too much - or else you'll feel that way up until first day of class!

Also, just added Bolivia's salt flats onto my bucket list! 🙂
