Virginia resident, 4.0 GPA, 35Q MCAT, Biology major

2.5 yrs research with pub, Summer research intern at UVa, 60+ hours shadowing in three specialties, semester of volunteering at a local free clinic, medical service trip to Ghana, currently volunteering for 10 weeks in Vietnam at orphanages, AIDS shelters, etc.

Other college EC's (campus stuff, fraternity w/leadership, sexual assault peer advocate, service fraternity)

My list (is 15 schools not enough?)

while your stats look pretty good, your list is very top heavy. if you're able, i might add a couple more mid or low tier schools just to be safe

Actually, I think the list is pretty good as it contains schools of multiple ranges of selectivity.

Why not just add Eastern Virginia too, mine as well apply to all your state schools. You shouldn't have any problems getting in though!

I would apply to EVMS, but I go to school in Williamsburg and am DYING to get out of the Hampton Roads area

Even if your dying to get out of that area I would still apply. Worst case you end up accepted there as well as many other places, but just think applying to all your in-state schools is always a good idea.

Your list is fine...it's just not balanced yet. Your only "safeties" are Jeff, VCU, and maybe Penn State. You need to add 5-6 more schools, all matches and "safeties" (if there is such a thing in med school admissions). You have some on there already, but just not enough.

Play it safe, expand the list. Just my advice.
