I am considering taking microbiology this upcoming spring semester before I head off to dental school, however, the only time I can take it is conflicting with another class I want to take. I have already completed my bio major, so the microbiology would just be a elective class essentially. I am wondering with this conflict, is it worthwhile to try and work around it and still take micro to get some background in the area before dental school? I feel like I have a pretty solid cell and molecular background already, so I'm not sure how much more it would really augment my knowledge. Any current dental students, what would you recommend? Thanks in advance for your help.

You'll learn a lot in dental school that you don't need to worry about yet, but I personally wish I took more science classes.

Take it. That way when you are in dental school, some of it won’t seem new to you.

I am a microbiology major. I would definitely recommend taking it; however, it is a relatively straightforward subject that you could easily pick up on in the future. Good luck!

yeah I'm in a conflict right now. ill save money by not taking it, but i think it'll help me in dental school. So it is still up in the air
Save your money if it isn't required. You can learn about it online or go to the library and borrow a microbio textbook. Problem solved?

Take it, a lot of schools require it.
