Next semester is my last semester before beginning to study for the mcat, should I take biochem over physics 2? My schedule/enrollment doesn't allow me to take both next semester.

Thanks

I did not take Physics II or Biochem before taking the MCAT. I did fine, but wouldn't recommend doing that if you can avoid it. You'll have to take them eventually, so you might as well take them beforehand to help you do well.

Biochem concepts are much more prevalent in multiple sections than physics 2 concepts. Imo the physics 2 concepts (electricity, magnetism, circuits, etc.) are pretty self-teachable, and with KA and enough practice problems you'll be fine on those physics 2 concepts

I agree with everyone else, if taking biochem/physics before the mcat isnt going to inconvenience you then definitely take it as biochem is a huge part of the mcat (not so much physics II). That being said, its not necessary at all. I didnt take either before my mcat and I felt that self studying the subjects, while definitely not enjoyable wasn't that difficult so dont get all worked up if you can only fit in one of them or neither

Take Biochem! It's ubiquitous on the MCAT. However, I highly recommend that you devote significant time to any Physics 2 concepts - they do show up and can be challenging to master. Good luck!!
